i talked to Brytne again tonight. reserved her hotel room for champaign-urbana visit next week; i do believe i'll be staying in the dorms. i love to hear her voice. i woke up about eleven hours ago (as everyone should know from reading my earlier entry, right?) and still haven't showered, but i will before i sleep. i think i'll even shave this time -- if i wait til tomorrow, it'll be a week. right now my appearance is nowhere near as clean-cut as the photograph to the right.
a little further to the right is this neat little form i've just added. i think its function should be obvious but since nobody has signed up, i'll explain: entering your e-mail address will put you on my notifylist, so you will receive an e-mail from time to time if i do anything major with my diary. so sign up! if nothing else it'll make me smile, and you do want me to smile, right? :)
i was browsing diaries and profiles today when i noticed that the second most popular mustical artist/band on diaryland is weezer. though the most popular is linkin park, a pop culture craze that's currently bigger than backstreet boys, it struck me as odd that weezer would be the one to follow it. i have decided this is probably because of their rock/emo style, and the fact that while linkin park's giant percentage of the overall crowd has obviously leaked into diaryland, the diaryland demographic must lean heavily toward rock/emo type people, to such a degree that a much less popular band (in the grand scheme of things) like weezer ranks up there with linkin park. i suppose that's not so hard to believe, but it makes me feel that with diaryland i'm in, for the most (or almost most) part, good musical company.
i also noticed dannyr's choice of "boondock saints" as a favorite movie, which reminded me of this terrific flick he and i have probably seen a combined 50 times, so i put it in my profile and bumped "high fidelity", which i still love. upon inspection i found that some 200 people on diaryland also listed the very little-known movie in their profiles. i also noticed that glittered listed the movie, and when i started reading her diary saw the name 'danny' mentioned multiple times, so my wide-eyed-weird-side decided it had to be the same danny. of course, it wasn't. but i still liked her diary.
in fact, i'm getting to where i like them all, whether for insight of humor or something else, but anyone reading this can surely identify (probably with the "something else" department, though)
that said, i spent a good amount of time browsing designers' sites and decided it was about time to learn php (scripting perl-like language, designed for the web). so i did. boredom and a computer often combine to yield a wonderful thing. my background in c and perl helped speed the process along, of course -- hopefully you'll soon hear about me finding a job to work on, though so far there are no takers on any of my bids.
not that anyone cares about the nerdier side of me.
well, some do ;)
and with thoughts of them, or her, i'll sleep a while.
